Upon connecting to an ExileNET server, your IP will be checked against a DNS blacklists. These list are maintained by different groups to help stop spam and IRC abuse. Today there are lots of viruses, trojans and mis-configured systems on the internet. Attackers use them for spamming and evading bans. Because of this, the ExileNET servers are designed to check each host connecting to the network and disconnect them if they are found in any of the blacklists.

What to do if you are listed.
ExileNET's login-on-connect feature allows you to pre-login while connecting to ExileNET. Using login-on-connect bypasses you from RBL checks, and hides your hostname before anyone can see your real IP address. We recommend everyone give it a try.
Login-on-connect avoids RBL checks, but not existing bans.

To use login-on-connect, you must first have an ExileNET NickServ Account. Fill out this FORM requesting an account and one of our admins will add it as soon as possible.

Login-on-connect uses the "Server password" feature built into most IRC clients. All you do is put your specially formatted login information into the server password box like this:
/username/password (slash, your username,slash,your password)
for example, my username is Evul, and if my password was slipknot, I would put the following into my password box:
/evul/slipknot

mIRC setup example:

We apologize for the inconvenience, we understand that the use of the RBLS will cause some people unnecessary trouble connecting to ExileNET, but we hope that the trade off of less spam and abuse makes it worth while. Please don't be discouraged, we will make every effort to allow legitimate users access to ExileNET.

You can check the OpenRBL.Org site to query all major RBLs at once for your host. We are currently blocking based on the following RBLs, and list types. We DO NOT block based only on "DUL" (dialup) records.
